Meet the Staff
Brent founded Global Neighborhood in 2007 to help provide services to the many refugees arriving in Spokane every year. By 2011 it had become apparent that the number one need within the community was for job training and the opportunity to earn a regular paycheck – thus GNThrift was born.
Job Readiness Program Manager

Emmanuel starting working with GN Thrift as an interpreter. He speaks several languages, which is an asset at GN! Emmanuel was looking for more work experience so he joined our Job Readiness Program. Several months later he was ready for the real deal so we hired him on as a cashier in January of 2019.

Masouma started her career at GN Thrift as one of our earliest former refugee employees and we never let her leave. She came on as staff in 2012 and has made a huge difference to the daily operation of the store.
Khalil joined our team in a temporary position as a cashier while we were in the midst of moving to our new location. Among all of the chaos he jumped in, worked hard, caught on and was a team player. Needless to say, he’s a permanent employee now!
Jen joined GN Thrift in August of 2017. She has brought a spirit of engagement with the Spokane community through events and partnerships in Spokane. Do you have an event or business that would like to partner with Global Neighborhood? Email Jen at firstname.lastname@example.org
